Masato Murakami, President and Representative Director of PDRadiopharma Inc., has contributed an article entitled “From Accelerators to the Bedside: The Radiopharmaceutical Revolution Turning Beams into Molecular Medicine—and Transforming Patients’ Treatment Choices” to Accelerator, Vol. 23, No. 2 (2026), the journal of the Particle Accelerator Society of Japan.

The article describes the value chain through which radioisotopes (RIs) produced by accelerator technologies are developed and manufactured into radiopharmaceuticals, delivered to healthcare institutions, and ultimately provide patients with new diagnostic and therapeutic options.

It also discusses theranostics, which integrates diagnosis and therapy, research and development of radiopharmaceuticals utilizing macrocyclic peptides, the stable supply of medical RIs, and collaboration among industry, government, academia, and healthcare institutions to advance radiopharmaceutical innovation originating in Japan and bring it into clinical practice.
